The paths proposed have been selected because they best fit with the objectives of the Core Paths Plan and were identified during the consultation process. A number of priorities identified in the Outdoor Access Strategy15 are being addressed by the proposed network in this area. The Glenmore Off-road Route (LBS29) and the Speyside Way (LBS116) help to meet the need to provide safe off-road cycling and horse riding. The Aviemore Orbital (LBS30) provides access to both the River Spey and Craigellachie National Nature Reserve, both being places of importance for residents and visitors.
